The best grapes for making Port-styled wines are those that have great fruit flavor, a fine depth of character, and excellent color. For this release Stong chose primarily zinfandel, 78% and syrah, 21%, with 1% pinot noir. The combination of these varietals, from six of their best vineyards, results in a wine with balanced sweetness, powerful flavors of raspberry and jammy fruits and an unctuous texture that glides on the palate, and lingers. Because of its sweet and special nature, Port is generally considered a dessert wine and this one is no different. Ladies, don't be thrown off by the name, this wine is for anyone that loves port and dark chocolate, throw in some rich chocolate cake and invite some friends over to indulge as this is a full 750ml bottle!
